Jose rounded the last curve hearing his relatives shout him on. His brother Ricardo was right behind him trying his best to catch up. Jose was exhilarated. He would finally beat his brother. All these years Ricardo had always beaten him on the annual Trowa Island bike race. But this year would be different. The straightaway, there it is! Jose pedaled even faster. He knew his brother would never catch him. He had trained all summer for this moment. Only 200 yards, Jose felt a bump. The sky turned upside-down. Jose felt like his was floating. As his mind tried to make sense of this his body screamed at him as his back slammed on the pavement. Jose suddenly realized he would have to wait till next year. He dropped to his chest as his spirit was crushed.
